This Doctor is Following His Own Orders

American Heart Association/American Stroke Association President Ralph Sacco, is featured in a great article in USA Today, on living the 2020 Mission and Life’s Simple 7. In the article, he talks about his own challenges in maintaining a healthy weight, keeping his salt and sugar intake in check and finding time in his busy schedule to exercise.

For example:
When he became heart association president, he realized he wasn't meeting the heart association's physical activity guidelines, which are at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity each week. "I wasn't as religious about exercise as I should have been," he says.

So now he gets up early and works out on the elliptical for 25 minutes most days and does some weight training. On the weekends, he rides his bike near his home in Miami Beach. When he travels, which is frequently, he tries to go to the hotel gym.
