Houston Volunteer to continue as chair of Consumer Health and Quality Coordinating Committee

American Heart Association volunteer James Postl will serve for a second consecutive year as chairperson of the AHA's Consumer Health and Quality Coordinating Committee. The committee, made up of volunteer leaders from medicine, business and other fields, provides expert input to help guide AHA initiatives including Get With The Guidelines, Mission: Lifeline, Food Certification and healthy behavior change campaigns including Teaching Gardens and Food Revolution Kitchens.

Postl, the retired CEO of Pennzoil-Quaker State Company, is a member of the Council of Overseers for the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University in Houston. Prior to joining Pennzoil, he was CEO of Nabisco International.

An AHA volunteer since 2000, Postl is a member of the AHA's Board of Directors and International Committee. He was the 2000-01 chair of the Houston Heart Walk and served as board chair for the Houston Division in 2002-03 and 2003-04. He is also a member of the SouthWest Affiliate Board of Directors.
