SWA Volunteer Becomes 2012-13 National AHA Chairman

Dallas businessman Ron W. Haddock was named national chairman of the American Heart Association for our 2012-13 fiscal year beginning July 1. As chairman, Ron is responsible for the overall administration of business affairs, public relations and fundraising and will preside over meetings of the board of directors and administrative cabinet.

Ron is chairman of the board and interim CEO of AEI Services, LLC, and is also chairman of both Safety-Kleen and Rubicon Offshore International. He was chairman and CEO of FINA from 1989 until his retirement in 2000.

An AHA volunteer for more than 10 years, Ron recently completed a two-year term as chairman of the SouthWest Affiliate and is also a past chairman of the Dallas Division. He has significantly increased corporate involvement in association activities – particularly in the Dallas area – by recruiting dozens of senior executives to local boards and committees. In 2010, Ron received the Dallas Division’s first One In A Million Award for his outstanding volunteer service.

Last year, a $1 million gift from Ron and his wife Sandi allowed the AHA to establish the Ron Haddock American Heart Association/American Stroke Association International Impact Award to recognize outstanding contributions to the organization’s global efforts. The gift also supports increased participation in SouthWest Affiliate fundraising campaigns.

In this video, recorded in late June, Ron and 2012-13 President Donna Arnett, PhD talked with CEO Nancy Brown about the year ahead.
